I find the responses to this post interesting. Even liberals have to be aware that US hegemony has been on life support for a while now. The only reason to get mad at someone for saying this is if you're attached to the idea of resuscitating the American empire, which just seems impossible
Trump's dismantling of US empire is ironic and chaotic - but I'm already tired of liberals saying it's some kind of crime against humanity that yet another great power is destroying itself from within. US power has been a malign influence for half a century; it's time to let it die.
