Did that a few months ago. I was released on the second Wednesday having been on exactly zero trials

Hope you’ve got a good book!

Just reposted as I didn’t quote post yours…

When I went there as a kid it was a bit of a dump - apparently it’s been restored to a lot of its former glory today

Wow - I thought picture 3 was bad (the first appearance of the fake boat) but then I got to picture 11…

I could just go on for days about the challenges- both with the house and other things (health etc) both my partner and I are fed up with it ☹️.

Anyway - don’t want to bring the mood down, I’m sure your new paint will look great once you’ve got the second coat done 🙂

Yeah - we found so many problems we didn’t expect - the rooms that are done are nice - but when tiles literally fall off the bathroom wall, and you find out the shower valve doesn’t work properly and the manufacturer folded 15 years ago…. And the previous owners dog chewed on the kitchen units…

We bought knowing we had work to do - house is solid, but was tired - but we had no idea how much work was needed - every job seems to reveal 2 more problems to solve before we can get the original task done…

Kitchen needs full repaint, some repairs to cabinets, and re-tile

Dining room needs ceiling plaster repairs, and a full repaint

Garden tidy up,

That’s the current list anyway…. Big problem is time vs budget - working full time in the day job leaves limited time to work on the house 3/4

Then repaint, reinstall the bath/shower/glass screen and new flooring.

Convert the old boiler cupboard into storage (fix plaster, paint, shelves)

Repair the shower valve in the en-suite (can’t do that until the main bathroom shower is usable)

Redecorate en-suite

Redecorate kitchen 2/4

Well, there’s the landing walls and bannisters (has to be done before the stair carpet goes down - and that’s a set date now) then there’s completely rebuilding the main bathroom due to a incident where the tiles came away and took the plasterboard too - so that now needs tanking too…. 1/4

Decorating is an energy suck - we’ve been in our place nearly 4 years and we’re not even close to done :(. We’re so fed up with decorating that I can see us getting to the end and selling up, we’re so sick of living in a house which is a constant reminder of how much is left to do (which is a pity)
