Ringo has been singing Act Naturally for six decades at this point. It's nowhere close to my favorite Beatles song, but it's still a pretty cool experience

“It’s great, it sold, it’s the bloody Beatles white album, shut up”

John and Paul certainly deserve some blame for not giving George his due, but it also seems like George himself was holding back a bit. And given how great ATMP ended up being, it’s hard to get too mad about it

The #Beatles still feel extremely contemporary, and for good reason since they helped to define what *counts* as contemporary. But songs like Sie Liebt Dich remind us that they grew up in a radically different world

Before I ever heard this song, I had read about it as an example of Lennon/McCartney conjuring a song out of thin air for the Stones. When I eventually heard it, I discovered that the tale was a bit larger than the song itself.

I'm one of those who loves the sprawling, strange White Album. But I also admit that we'd probably never be out here arguing for a double album filled with eccentricities if it had gone the other way.

“Apart from the lyrics and the guitars, how was the show Mrs. Lincoln?”

Special thanks to the Nothing is Real podcast (@beatlespod.bsky.social) for a wonderfully illuminating episode on You Know My Name, which is well worth the listen, especially if you want to know more about the backstory.

It’s not one of my favorite songs, purely as a song. But there might not be a better window into the story of the Beatles

Paul wrote quite a few obviously-about-Jane-Asher songs, with varying degrees of success. Another Girl is probably the weakest of the bunch

John's vocal in Bad Boy is great, but it's a little hard to get past the essential quaintness of the lyrics
