Well....it's finally snowing here in Minnesota. Perhaps today is a good day to get back into Noirvember by watching a Hawaiian-set noir. Also, if somebody had told me that Elsa Lanchester plays a cabbie in this one, I would have watched this sooner.

Same desperation to be funny and win over people.

It's the 30th anniversary of Casino. This was the first Martin Scorsese movie that I ever watched. It's also the one Scorsese movie that I've rewatched the most times.

I really hope that the weather is cooperative next month so I can make the drive down to the Twin Cities in order to attend this.

If you've ever seen Lawrence of Arabia in a theater projected on a 70mm print like I have, you'll understand why it's one of the great ones.

It's been a year and a half since I last purchased anything from those Kino Lorber sales. As always, I might have went overboard this month during their recent sale. A few upgrades and quite a few blind buys.

A curse upon those who were on their phones as well as those who were Robert De Niro Cape Fear laughing at some of the acting. Otherwise, a great time and I wish there were more special screenings like this at the Fargo Theatre.

Top tier episode AND scene since it's one of the very few times we get to see Angry Columbo. I also think about the "huff and puff on that rotten cigar" quote on a daily basis.

Rewatching "The Hot Rock" tonight because I need something that's extremely enjoyable at the moment. George Segal's line "You take failure too hard. I don't mind it so much anymore." is still an all timer.

It's a rainy day and I'm trying to decide what movie to watch this morning before I head to the gym and my job later. Either one of the saddest movies ever made (McCabe & Mrs. Miller) or something starring Robert Redford (leaning towards All the President's Men instead of Jeremiah Johnson now).

One of my favorite episodes from one of my favorite TV series. It's going to be hard revisiting this one.
Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today
