The use of the word "engagement" here makes me picture someone who heard the pro-ragebait wisdom "all engagement is good [for advertisers on the internet]" and decided it should apply to every aspect of life.

Was the "preforming" typo intentional?

This is exactly what the Dept of Interior is claiming, as cited in the article above. I doubt that's legitimate, but I don't know why NPR is saying it's not explained, except for clicks.

Wild that the only counties with truly paperless voting are in Republican states. I don't know how that happened...

Didn't he just get back from a few days in Asia? I'm not here to excuse anything about his presidency or his life, but even terrible people get jetlagged as fuck.

Shame on you for gutting your political coverage.

You mean the parents are driving in their cars, following their own kids trick-or-treating on foot? I guess I'm not shocked that this might be a thing in rural towns where houses are very far apart and don't have sidewalks, but it seems bizarre to me in a suburban setting.

Parents of young kids - please be careful trick or treating tonight

I found this Dodge RAM 1500 hidden inside a Snickers bar last year

Unlike razor blades or Fentanyl massive trucks like this actually do injure or kill a significant number of kids on Halloween

You or your neighbors can probably ask your town to close it. I live in Seattle and you can get a permit pretty easily for a block party or whatever.

I suppose if the nation as an institution survives long enough to see it, a resurgence of these diseases may be what is necessary to make it clear to future generations why those vaccines are important.

Part of the genius of this messaging is the premise that their presence is itself a crime. They say it again and again.

Lately I can't stop thinking about what if we could get all the baseball people interested in solving real world problems instead of the drama & the stats. I love a good escape or distraction, but baseball Fandom is enormous. Probably in no small part because it tries to be "apolitical."
