Possibly the only poly trans lesbian compiler engineer who’s never worked on Rust.

Fan writer (current obsession: works of Alyson Greaves). Basic Balmung miqo’te. Works on Swift at the fruit company.
Danielle is sort of a supertaster; she experiences even subtle flavors vividly. Apparently this stuff is incredibly overpowering to her palate.

I guess there’s nothing better out there, so I’ll just have to live with the name I’ve got.

Feeling that my name was wrong? That came from me. Feeling that I couldn’t try a girl name? That’s the part society put in my head.

Maybe a different name would feel better? But I ran through all the boy names I could think of and all of them felt the same way.

Well, I could always try a girl name—shit, no, danger, do *not* go there, you know what the other kids would do if they knew you were thinking that.

I have in my desk back home a Disneyland annual pass from when I was about six years old. I keep it as a physical reminder of my earliest memory of dysphoria.

I remember balancing on a ledge outside the office after the photo was taken, ruminating on how my name felt bad and wrong, ill-fitting.

That’s the part that really sets me off.

“We stand with [the trans community].”

No you don’t. You might *want* to stand with us, you might *feel bad* that you aren’t standing with us, but if you’re kicking us out without a fight, you are objectively not standing with us.

I don’t know if it’s possible to be worth all that, but I’ll try.

She should get someone to help. Maybe some nice person her kid already loves to death. An out-of-work teacher or something.

Sadly, I’m a spice wimp.

I think we agree with each other? My point is that if you’re in charge of a very popular institution, you should use that popularity to stand up to bigoted threats.
December 2, 2025 at 9:10 PM
When you’re running an organization like that, you’ve got to have the courage to respond to legal threats with “Do you *really* want to be known as the person who shut down the Girl Guides?”
