My toddler either eats three times as much as me for a meal: or exists on yoghurt and vibes. There is no in-between.

She bought tickets: he will compete and they are still together. But so many possible awkward situations could have eventuated depending on if she did/didn't buy tickets: he did/didn't qualify: they did/didn't stay together 😄

About 18mths ago I had a hilarious conversation with my cousin who is dating a snowboarder about whether she should buy tickets for the winter Olympic events he may or may not be competing in: it was a question not only of his snowboarding abilities but also if they would still be together 😄

Oh, I wrote about my theory on this a few weeks ago:

I live in Australia in the inner city in a rowhouse - front door is the only entrance/exit so yes, we use it.

Have definitely lived in more suburban/rural places where side door or back door was more commonly used.

I made my vegetarian lasagne yesterday, in which the sauce has lentils, tinned tomatoes and whatever vegetables need to be used, so it is never the same twice. This time we had spinach, carrot and mushroom - turned out pretty good! I do a double batch and freeze portions for lunches.

Can you facilitate a book swap or free little library for your local community? Friends and I rotate what books our kids have regularly and it really helps keep reading interesting!

And it’s amazing to me how many adults think “I have changed my mind” and “I have done harm to you, is there something I can do to repair the harm I’ve caused?” Are the same thing.

Definitely not struggling to enjoy or eat food on my holiday because I don't know how clean the kitchen of the place we are staying is or how long various food has been in the fridge 🙃

We stopped at a service station in the middle of country Australia the other day, and there were two sheep hanging out on the Ute in front of us! My two year old was delighted

Thanks - that would be helpful. I am limited by what our friend has in stock in his house, as there is basically nothing open today or tomorrow (Sunday and then public holiday) and the shopping options were limited to begin with.

I have water and coke zero - so kind of? We are driving home (to Sydney) on Tuesday, so just hoping to get through a few days of heat 🙃

Amy and I did a substack swap awhile back where I wrote about the link between grief and motherhood in AoGG:

Anne is the woman and mother I want to be, but I know I am far more like Rilla. Una's story of loyal silent love also breaks me every time.
