I'm not much of a dog person but I'm glad to see some dog representation in the "tiny animals wearing bat wings for Halloween" meme category.

Also, I'm very ready to be not swamped by Real Life and burnout so I could really enjoy Halloween season.

As the government shutdown begins, remember that one of the biggest deficit drivers of the past 20 years are Republican tax cuts for the wealthy & corporations. The issue isn't programs that help millions of Americans, it's giveaways to the rich.

It is #Caturday and the Floof continues to be absurd and photogenic. Persist, but pause to gaze upon the floof. Remember that Nazis need punching, Canada will never be the 51st State, alt text should be included in all images, trans rights are human rights, and all cats are best cats.

Why is law stuff like this always two words?

These are called ‘legal doublets’ and we can once again blame the Normans.

The organizers of the UN event for healthy indoor air used a canary on all their materials and gave everyone canary pins.

Why? Canaries detect dangerous substances in the air of coal mines. We all need to be like canaries and warn about the dangers of unhealthy indoor air due to COVID and climate.

"The next X years are going to be so tedious and dumb and painful."

Yeah, that's what the last almost 6 years have been for immunocompromised people.

It keeps getting worse largely in part because all of you keep ignoring how covid continues to harm everything, but welcome to the frontlines.

And, as we've seen since then, the outcome is "they'll never believe COVID is serious again".

Unfortunately, COVID just keeps going on being serious as a heart attack. Or a stroke. Or ME/CFS. Or POTS. Or cancer. Or cognitive decline and brain fog.

And it's only been five years so far.

Florida and Texas should be on every dems calendar.

These states have a blue majority. But they do no vote / are suppressed.

Dems, you need a southern strategy. @schumer.senate.gov @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social
What are you doing by conceding. We are ending your donors. Why do u bother with them?

The Daily Mail has run a number of attack pieces on Violet Affleck after her incredible UN speech advocating for COVID protections including masks and clean air.

These attack pieces including a poll on masking in medical facilities. The result? An overwhelming 76% of people support requiring masks!

I saw a headline
which read:
“Long COVID
Hitting Doctors
and Nurses Hard,”
and as I read the article
I couldn’t help but think
it’s not just hitting
doctors and nurses.

My experience with allowing a kid access to Scratch has been that my kid mostly ends up playing other people's games instead of making anything of their own. :/ It's also ... code adjacent, rather than coding.

I was raking leaves on the lawn when I uncovered the god.

"Leave me alone!" it commanded. "I'm decomposing."

"Oh," I said. "Will it take long?"

"Unless I find a believer..."

"I'm an atheist."

"Hmph. I'll be gone by spring."

"Shall I cover you?"

"I command it!"

I'll check that pile in spring.

Indianapolis residents have shut down a proposed Google data center.

The tech giant wanted to build a massive 500 acre facility, but people got organized and stopped them.

The $1 billion data center would've used one million gallons of water a day.

Plus the whole "vax and relax" bullshit, which guaranteed the pandemic would never end and variants would proliferate.

Not to mention, he ended the pandemic supports that had lifted children out of poverty, etc.

Look at Toad. His edible is just starting to take hold and he needs to tell Frog that instead they should watch Big Trouble in Little China

The night was cold and dark.

“Listen to the wind howling in the trees,” said Frog. “What a fine time for a ghost story.”

And I'm not naming the author, but also making "can't keep a pregnancy because werewolf change" a big thing and then the epilogue is "as a reward for taking down Lucifer, God just put her lycanthropy on hold for a while so she could have a baby"? Fuck you. 3/2
