One of our sunflowers came out with missing petals but it's still beautiful and bees & other pollinators still love it.

Bramble alert!
First round of Birmingham brambles are berry much ready good to go
sweet and juicy
get to the hedges when you have a chance
sunny Spring + wet start to summer = loads of these wild blackberries where they've been left alone to do their thing. So tasty, grown from the earth by the sun.

Good turnout for the launch of the Calthorpe Park redevelopment consultation - we really need some tlc for our neglected Birmingham neighbourhood #B12

Have your say:

What's this minibeast please, other than supercute & wriggly?

Found in fairly loose soil in a plant pot.

Many of the UK's rivers have hit exceptionally low levels and that could worsen in the next 3 months.

The warning comes after the driest spring in England since 1961, with northern regions experiencing the driest start to the year in nearly a century

It was just that one burst of rain, a couple of inches in our water butt.

on the 19th day, it rained
not much
just enough to wet the world
make the ground breathe out
petrichor
in half an hour
tho the skies were still grey
most of the rain had streamed away
down pipes + drains
or steamed off
hot pavements + roads

get your butts out
could be a while
before it rains again

🚨🚨 15 days of Spring without rain in England, super warm temps

plant life cycle is coming on faster because of temperature but there's not enough water

this is us in Birmingham -;how about you?

It's mad hot today in Birmingham.

10°C higher than average, 5°C over the usual top temp.

This is not good. It hasn't rained for 6 days.
Please water your green spaces this evening to help out the plants, insects and birds 💚🐝

how lovely is our baby oak tree?

the way the leaves form in threes, rotated, maximising light absorption

Thanks for the reminder - we all need water to thrive and it's been 13 days since we had any rain here in Birmingham! 🐝
