I construe this to apply broadly to the sciences being targeted. Political "neutrality" is shameful.

By trashing these agencies, rendering them ineffective, public support for broken institutions will erode, and privatizing will become far more politically viable. Once that process is complete, the Democratic Party will be powerless to reverse it, even if they're allowed to regain power.
