Such a good interview too!
You can also get his historian’s book (which apparently inspired their connection in the first place) press.princeton.edu/books/ebook/...

Most discussions about “misinformation” treat the problem as if people simply don’t have good enough critical-thinking skills. It sounds intuitive, but it’s not entirely accurate. The problem isn’t just individual ignorance, it’s the structure of the information environment people are placed into.

Plus or minus quite a bit of details (like not harming people), the whole basis of living in a pluralistic liberal society is that everybody’s free to make decisions others might disagree with and that’s not just ok, but has to be ok.
If I can take a stab at this - it exposes that an underlying issue in left of center spaces is that everyone both has to believe they they’re constantly making morally pure decisions and needs to be lauded for them. It stinks!
Burrito taxi is one of the fundamental discourses of social media. Amazing how persistent it is. What does it say about modern society? What it says about the demographics of social media? What does it say about political ideology/incoherence?

Such a good analysis/thread about pop culture icons today:
Pour in the resources and watch the stock explode, but-...if they get too big, then you're kinda all in with no other options. Now they have the power and demand. The Symbol becomes less an outfit and more a shield. Meryll streep's wielded hers for decades.

It’s okay to not be first! You can add context, explore new angles, report out your own work in other ways, AND cite the person who drew something to your attention and did the initial work.

NIOSH is the agency that researches workplace harms/how to make workplaces safe, and makes the recommendations that OSHA then enforces.

They were the ones who were responsible for making sure the air you breathe at your job isn’t going to give you cancer when you’re older or cause organ failure etc
Nearly all of remaining staff at CDC's NIOSH received lay off notices today, we're told

This is an org chart shared with us illustrating eliminated divisions to date

Cuts had already upended approvals of new N95 respirators and probes of firefighter injuries

There should be a whole televised ceremony where different federal departments explain where the taxes went & how & what was accomplished that year — ending with a huge traveling trophy (Stanley Cup style) for the person who paid the most & Ft. Knox gold-plated placards for the top 10000 runners-up
I honestly feel like if there was a shiny gold medal for best businessman to the person who paid most in taxes instead of the least, we'd be cooking.

VOA's history and mission are complicated, there's no question about it. But I'm proud of the independence that VOA journalists have fought for in recent decades. And as a motto for a news organization, I'm sorry, you just can't beat this:
