It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

the societal dominance of wealth culture has really warped the lens of what holds value. all of these were grifts, at their core, but being a grift is no longer a bad thing if you profited. as long as there's potential for increased financial gains, it has value, no matter the validity or usefulness

to be honest I've always found it kinda fun to end up being a little bit crappy at whatever I try to do... Takes a lot of pressure off, and I feel like everyone can tell when you're doing something just for the love of the game

making and sharing art is such a vulnerable process. putting little parts of yourself out into the world and inviting feedback is equal parts scary and wonderful. despite having done it for work for a few years now, it still feels big every time i do it

they are just on a normal layer! i really like refining linework though, its my favorite part of the process ^_^ i also haven't used vectors since getting forced to learn and use illustrator in college, so im not good at it x3

finding and chasing that sort of euphoria is really special u3u and having the internal reality that makes you euphoric be validated and seen by others is sooooo nice. like, almost intoxicating (in a good way :3)

realizing now how many of the like, 90s/2000s cartoon nerd stereotype traits were just autism is wild. being overly interested in weird but complicated topics, talking endlessly about interests, monotone or otherwise strange voice, unusual clothing and problems making friends and dating. hmm
