One thing about work that really drives me up the wall like a chair lift is they would rather make arcane rules around processes instead of just teaching everyone the right way and holding people accountable to not fuck up.

I work in an IT job supporting a statewide application. I fix code and data when it breaks. My boss has the brilliant idea to start putting our work into sprints. As in, Agile sprints. So work that is never planned will need planned out. I can't even.

It's so hard talking about tech with boomer parents. They don't care to learn the basics so I can't have a basic conversation to help them. Like, how can I tell my mother how to find a password manager she likes & is safe if we can't get past SSL and 2FA.

I truly love my job, but man, days like this where I have to walk people through their jobs just to get mine done get old real fast. At least I'm getting good at holding hands...

Trying to sell Nintendo 3DSs on Mercari and eBay and I keep getting them taken down one after the other. Somehow I'm promoting fake products and piracy just because they come with a few games. So weird.

Panera is getting rid of their Charged Lemonade and I have mixed feelings. Sure, businesses need to be responsible, but as long as people can buy Mad Dog 20/20 in a dozen flavors, or bubblegum vodka it seems like a hollow effort.

I will say, the unlocking/CFW for the 3DS has really gotten me into Pokemon. I never jumped on that bandwagon mostly because my ADHD & PDA profile make me reject everything that people say I should do/like. But now, it's friggin cool.

I've been buying broken Nintendo 3DS' from Japan and fixing them, changing region, and rooting them with custom firmware, and that is a sentence that 10 years ago would probably made me slap someone if they said it.

When I make passwords for people at work, I always use the name of one of the demons from Solomon's Key and it makes me smile every time.
