I believe that too. It was a shameful day for America whose leaders betrayed basic American values. That said, America has to figure out how to stop Donald Trump from bulling/betraying allies. Otherwise, eventually its protestations will sound hollow.
Schiff: This is not who we are. We don’t bully an ally. We don’t take the side of a dictator. We’re just not what we saw displayed by the President of the United States today. I would say to our allies around the world that what they witnessed today might be Donald Trump, but it is not America.

President Trump’s understanding of power is arguably more in line with China’s vision of the world than any US president since the establishment of the UN in the wake of World War II. That shift is putting Chinese President Xi Jinping ahead in the global battle of ideas.
It’s Xi Jinping’s World, and Trump Is Just Living in It
As Donald Trump blows up the rules-based order, China is pulling ahead in the global battle for ideas.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Great comments from @eli.bsky.social on creating online spaces that elevate positive content, not polarization.

Last week, the Vatican warned that deepfakes and AI-driven misinformation erode trust and fuel division. Ethical AI must reinforce truth and social cohesion—not deepen polarization.
@eli.bsky.social: “I think we need to think beyond the commercial platforms and start thinking about, how do we build community in other ways online and in ways that foreground civic virtue rather than just commerce?”
