Probleem relatie Defensie/Media is altijd eentje van "Can't live with them - can't live without them". Zonder publiek steun geen Defensie, maar teveel opvallen is natuurlijk ook niet wenselijk. Hoewel zaken tonen ook deels afschrikken kan werken. Anyway: blijft dansen op slappe koord.

Yes, by a force that required a huge - and often neglected - logistical push by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to transport men, material and supplies thousand's of miles... but I'm sure you are very well aware of that!

Pretty amazing stuff! To anybody still wondering why you need STEM studies, I think the Oosterweel project is a nice example that shows how wildly different specialties are intertwined and work together. IT, Civil , Nautical, Oceanic...to just name a few.

Me thinks the Argies did back in '82 ...tried to conquer a piece of land (well some islands actually) in a couple of days to distract from internal problems and play the nationalist card. Started with some anonymous green men if I remember correctly. Please remind me how that turned out for them?

To put into perspective, I remember a time when if - as a man - you weren't wearing suit and tie, you weren't allowed into first class. Was in the late 80's, early 90's, so not that long ago really. To this day, I still wear jacket/suit and tie when flying for work even if in cattle/monkey class.

Oplossing specifiek hiervoor is nochtans eenvoudig en bestond vroeger: speciale Genie eenheden bestaande uit reservisten, komende van spoorbedrijven, ingezet voor Spoor mobiliteit. Past perfect in verhaal MilMob. Voorbeelden legio in de ons omringende landen zoals 504STRE(POWER/INFRA) in UK.

Als je kijkt naar spreiding zou je denken dat in Catalonië en Baskenland er toch een hogere concentratie is. Is natuurlijk alleen maar speculeren op één -onvolledige- kaart, maar toch al tekenend.
