I lost both my parents at 19. I’ve been
bullied and attacked for simply being
myself. After 13 years on social media,
I’ve found my voice. I’m not less than
anyone I just see the world differently.
Thank you for letting me be me here.

It’s taken me a long time to leave the
house again after being attacked in the
street. But today, I walked to the shops
by myself. Just me. No panic, no turning
back. After everything, I felt calm. I felt
proud. I’m getting my confidence back.

I hope you all enjoyed the tour of
my new place and thank you all once
again for the amazing love and support
it means more than you know. ❤️

After a few days of hard work,
I’m finally able to share a tour of
my new home. I was nervous about
filming this felt pretty self-conscious
about how I might come across on
camera. But this is a big step for me,
and I wanted to share it anyway.
Hope you enjoy the videos. 😊

I will do a video tour of my new place tomorrow! 😊

I have officially moved into my new home. 😀

Arrived at my hotel for the night
after a total of 372 mile drive
down from Kinross, Scotland all
the way down to Northampton in
England I’m exhausted so time
for bed good night everyone. 😊

Apologies for not responding to
any messages it's been non-stop today.
I’ll catch up on messages once I’m
settled. Just wanted to share a quick
update and say thank you to everyone
for the amazing support. ❤️

I’m tired but excited. Tomorrow’s officially
move-in day, and I can’t wait to start this
new chapter down in my brand new home.
bencanham.bsky.social
It took all day to pack and load the van up so
I didn’t leave Kinross, Scotland until late. Now
it’s past midnight and still driving to Kettering.

If my story helps even one person
feel less alone, my heart is full. All I’ve
ever wanted is to help others through
hard times and show the world what
life with autism really looks like. 😊

Someone said my story helped their friend
come out of his shell. That’s the tweet. This is
why we speak. 🎙️❤️ #AutismAwareness

That said, I feel like I’m coping better
than I expected and I’m actually starting
to feel excited about this new chapter.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s
sent kind messages. It truly means a lot.

I’ve been really busy today finishing
the last of my packing, getting ready for
the big move this weekend. Moving is always
stressful, but as someone with autism,
change can be especially challenging.

I was really impressed with Ben's courage, eloquence and candor. He was one of the best guests I've ever had on the show. A genuinely kind and intelligent young man.

I did something out of my
comfort zone yesterday I was a guest
on a podcast with @kellyscaletta.bsky.social
sharing my story and what it’s like
living with autism I was nervous at first
but I didn’t let anxiety take over.

I’m not Palestinian. I’m not Israeli.
I’m not from Manchester. But I am human.
And being human means my heart breaks
when innocent people are killed no matter
where, no matter who. Grief isn’t political.
Compassion doesn’t need a side. If you
still have empathy, hold onto it.

If you’ve always struggled with
food but never felt like you “fit” typical
eating disorder descriptions, look
into ARFID. You’re not alone.
bencanham.bsky.social
ARFID is real. It’s not fussiness.
It’s not stubbornness. And it’s time
we talked about it more openly so
people can get the understanding
and help they need.
bencanham.bsky.social
When I eat out, I always
order the same thing. Always.
Trying something new feels
overwhelming, even scary. I’ve
always known my eating was
different from everyone else’s.
bencanham.bsky.social
ARFID is still not well understood,
even by some GPs. One in my local practice
told me I should “just eat a better diet” but
offered no support, advice, or referrals.
bencanham.bsky.social
Please never criticise parents
whose children only eat a few
preferred foods. It’s not always
about bad habits or lack of
discipline sometimes it’s ARFID
or another underlying issue.
bencanham.bsky.social
I only recently learned this had a name.
Growing up, I was just called a “fussy eater” or
a “picky eater.” That label felt dismissive and
misunderstood what I was experiencing.
bencanham.bsky.social
ARFID means I eat a limited range
of preferred foods. It’s not a choice.
For me, it comes with strong sensory
issues around certain smells and
textures, which make many foods
impossible to tolerate.
