Currently in testing, already active in SF, phoenix, and LA. The ones I’ve seen on the interstate have had safety drivers (which they always have during testing phases).

Stop 4. Picked up some friends in Richmond and made a quick stop at a Ionna at a Wawa.

Good experience except the signs all said that ICE vehicles could also park there so a lot of the spots were ICEd

Stop 3. After walking around my undergrad, Elon University, and getting some Carolina BBQ, we stopped at a Rivian charger by a Starbucks in Henderson, NC. Got around 207kw. Easy and nice to have Starbucks nearby

Charging update: reminder to precondition! I should be getting 150-200kw but I’m hovering in the low 100s due to low amps from the charger (I assume cold battery)

Same, I really like their aesthetic

The coffee shop nearby gave us free coffee! Thank you to Famous Toastery in Concord NC!

About 205kw, I’ve seen better in the 220s but I didn’t precondition till 10 minutes away so that might have been the culprit.

Good experience, though a hummer ev did park and not plug in next to me 🫢

Stop 2: Using ABRP we went to a new Ionna station in concord NC with 45% for a quick top up. Great new canopy facility with alpitronic 400kw units.

Forgot to precondition manually so it was slow to ramp but getting 150-160kW at 50% SOC. Charger is a bit off the road in a decent shopping mall.

First stop was yesterday’s an EVGO station (had $45 in credits to use) at a Target by the highway in Greenville SC.
Great place for a stop, got some items we needed; The car charged faster than we could shop. eGMP rocks!

24 minute shop and we were on the road to family in Charlotte for the night

Been very impressed with their build out. Ionna gets a lot of media coverage but Pilot is quietly filling out major charging corridors in the southeast with covered pull through chargers. Just dislike the pricing (tho it’s not worse than EA)

Underrated limitation to EV growth is the lack of signage indicating highway corridor EV charging stations. Thays something the feds could have done with highway funding. I get the sense the general public has no idea of the prevalence of charging compared to gas stations which have exit signs

My guess is this one at least results in significant clawbacks because of how quickly it went bust. But we’re about to have a nearly-vacant HQ right next to the North Avenue MARTA station.
