To get my mind off things this weekend I (finally, after 2 years) routed this butcher block top, oiled it, built a base from an old bunk bed frame, and mounted it for the kitchen.

Then had neighbors over for a small Tu BiShvat nosh as a test run. (Not all food yet laid out in these pics)
A long butcher block slab of wood, sanded and edge-routed. I believe it is acacia? Same slab but now it’s coated with the first of several treatments of Boos mystery oil. Here’s the same thing, but now it’s mounted on a base with two shelves beneath and moved inside our kitchen. It will serve as a prep island and stand up snack station. Here it is later in the evening. The multiple coats of oil have really set in and darkened the wood. On top are some nibbles including: a loaf of bread, a sliced avocado, some dried fruits, and several containers of olives.

Spent the weekend mostly offline, working on a kitchen island, and recharging. Hope y’all got to have a restorative couple of days.

Here’s the husky sleeping early a few nights ago, half jammed under my bed.
A husky dog has wedged himself under the side of a bed frame. His paws are pressed against the base of a set of drawers on the opposite side of a narrow passage. There is a copy of the Monstress first omnibus collection behind him.

Hope everyone is doing well as we near the end of another week. Here’s a picture of my goofy husky absolutely locked in on a tennis ball when he was at the kennel last month.
A wild eyed husky is facing the camera mid-jump with his front legs off the ground and spread wide. His eyes are trained on a tennis ball in the foreground that has just been thrown or bounced. He will get that ball and teach it a lesson for all its past wrongs inflicted on the world.

Okay, what do we think about colors that may not be super "natural" for something organic? I actually really dig some of these.

(Needed a break from coding because coordinating websocket connections across server instances is exploding my mind.)
The roots are back again (as in previous posts) this time all in white. The difference here is that the circle and half circle backgrounds are all in new colors and gradients. The top row has eight logos that are yellow and yellow gradient, the middle row is red and red gradient and the bottom row is purple and purple gradient. There are twenty four logos in all, with the left twelve presented on a white background and the right twelve presented on a neutral-dark grey.

Forgot to post yesterday’s wild pop of color as the sun came up, so here it is!
The sun is rising, but still behind the hills in the distance. It has lit the clouds a bright, deeply saturated orange with a touch of yellow toward the horizon and shades of pink at the opposite end. A few small, dark clouds float in the middle, and the photo is framed by coniferous trees on either side in the foreground.

Okay, so I refined the roots a bit, and did a couple variants. The name of this project is going to begin with an "r" so I also added a little, organic sprouting "r" version. Any thoughts on individual faves here? Or pairs/sets?

Some variants of the logo folks like from the last round. In this image there are eight circles. Every one has roots growing in the bottom half of the circle. The image is divided into two halves, each with four circular logos in it. The left two are white lines on green circles and the right two are green lines on white circles. The four circles on the left are on a medium-dark grey background and the four on the right are on a white background. I’m late to this thread, but this was our Kirby. He was a rescue and had had to fight for any food, so for the first year or so we had him, he’d disappear anything seemingly before you had brought it out! Miss both these ding dongs.
Two malamute doggos. One is relaxing on the floor, the other stares expectantly at me, ready for any morsel or tidbit to fall from my plate.

Follow up … excellent sunrise action on this morning’s Husky Hike.
Colorful clouds in the distance as the sun rises, though still below the horizon, are seen beyond a few trees and houses in the foreground. Also, while typing that post, somehow Windows autocorrect doesn't know the concept of "whole-heartedly" but _does_ know like every negative version of it?!?

MS not recognizing "heart" seems accurate too, tbh.
Windows suggesting alternatives to "whole-heartedly" which it claims is incorrect. Some of the alternatives include whole-halfheartedly, whole-hardheartedly, and whole-downheartedly.
