Each chapter focuses on an album that I listened to as I read, and traveling through Mexico City while listening to David Bowie was very invigorating and inspiring. No notes. 👍

Also, Dudley Moore was almost the keyboardist for Hunky Dory?!

Wild yet pertinent information for me.

Final day of our trip in Mexico City-

Rode a horse through the Puerto Vallarta Butterfly Sanctuary to see the migrating monarchs.
Pretty magical to witness up close. Unless you’re scared of butterflies, in which case I’d imagine it’d be extremely terrifying. 🦋

Checking out of the rental in Valle de Bravo today to head up to Piedra Herrada.

Valle de Bravo is beautiful. Worth it just for the views, but we also had a lot of fun at the markets and strip.

Didn’t get a chance to search out any comic shops around Mexico City, but I did find a Spanish edition of my favorite issue of Justice League Dark at an outdoor market in Condessa 🙌

I know America’s been in a rut for the last couple of months/249 years, so when I stopped at this Daytona Beach-themed restaurant in Mexico City and they said the Diablo Wings were “la mas picante” I knew it was finally my chance to show the greater world we’re not all boot-licking fascist cowards.

I did see a lot of Stitch paraphernalia in the markets, but also a bunch of Virgin Mary’s and a big line outside the center square church in Valle de Bravo today.
But fingers crossed they (and all of us) replace the old gods with better ones soon!

So much beautiful, unlicensed crossover stuff in the street markets. There was a bootleg DVD collection that had One Battle After Another and five Jackie Chan movies!

Enjoyed a Café de olla, chicken burrito, some street corn (first time!) , and another delicious, spicy street taco.

Finally reached Valle de Bravo last night. What a view!

Excited to explore for a couple days.

Spent the second half of the day driving up to Valle de Bravo, but we stopped to eat at La Gruta, a restaurant in a cave!

Spent the afternoon walking around the pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico-

I was ok going up the steps of the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent, but definitely had a moment of "damn that looks way steeper” before walking back down

Now there’s 60+ hot air balloons in the skies over Teotihuacan-

Left early to go explore Teotihuacan, but stopped to check out the hot air balloons that leave to circle the pyramids at dawn.

All of the meals have been great so far, but getting to try the tacos at El Califa de León was a life-changer.

It’s the first street-food taquería to earn a Michelin star and absolutely lives up to the hype.

Literally just meat and tortilla that they cook in front of you and it’s perfect 🏆
