I'm pretty sure this isn't Twitter, but let's hang out anyway. I've spent 20 years reporting on games and pop culture for Ars Technica, Penny Arcade, and Polygon. I've set the internet on fire a few times, in fact! Don't worry though, I'm nowhere near done

The new Superman movie is so rewatchable because it's a very good movie made up of like a dozen GREAT scenes. You can jump in at just about any point and you're five minutes away from seeing something really cool or interesting or fun. I like it more and more.

Time spent listening to music with your eyes closed is the most productive time there is. You exist to feel things and experience it all. Give yourself time to do exactly that. Clear out an hour and listen to an album straight through with headphones on. You're going to love how it makes you feel.

My daughter is home sick and she just wants to stay in bed and read books and I'm worried she's bored or unhappy even though when I was a kid and sick all I wanted to do was stay in bed and read books but I'm worried so-

Anyway, that's what parenting is like.

When @aceottorney.bsky.social first told me about this I said "this could change people's lives and stop developers from getting exploited" and having seen the final resource, I think I was not wrong. I'd call it a must-bookmark for indie devs.

I am hundreds, probably actually thousands, of hours into Slice & Dice and I am *still* encountering totally novel, exciting situations. For sure my all time fav turn-based roguelike.

(My strong rec on how to play: Cursed Hyper mode w/ 20% wild modifiers on)

Hades 2 is quite good. I'm currently playing it on PC and I'm surrounded by three napping cats. As days off go, this isn't a bad one.

Me, while watching Westworld in 2025 as the world literally burns: Oh no way people probably WOULD be mean to robots this is really dark

Westworld season 1 looks great, feels 200 years old.

But after 30 are legally sold, that's all about to change. Now there's a market. There's precedent. And with art prices these days if the plan is to auction these the upper limit on value is WAY higher than most suspect.

We have all had the late-night, stoned thought "how much would it cost to buy a Bob Ross original?" and if you've ever answered that question, you know what a huge deal this is.

There isn't a market for Bob Ross originals. They weren't sold. I knew a few exist in private hands, but who would talk?

Thirty paintings created by the bushy-haired, soft-spoken Bob Ross will soon be up for auction to defray the costs of programming for small and rural public television stations suffering under cuts in federal funding. https://to.pbs.org/4nEQMrw
Bob Ross paintings to be auctioned to support public TV stations after federal funding cuts
All profits will help public TV stations with licensing fees for popular programs that include "The Best of Joy of Painting" and "America's Test Kitchen."

All of capitalism is set up to maintain that illusion. Don't fucking let it.

Whenever someone brings up Crash I always wait for some context clues before responding. That year makes a BIG difference 😉

Congratulations! The early days are no fun, but they're worth it. Don't feel bad about giving into the sweet tooth if your body is giving you one right now

My silly post isn't a political point and I'm not interested in people trying to make it one

This is way off topic but I cannot tell you how many hours Just King Things has gotten me through on the road. One of my favorite podcasts and as an adult who grew up reading the books the insights and thoughts you two share are always interesting and fun. I do it all for Steve

Now even my kids will yell "pull over! That strip mall looked depressing as hell, I bet they have a good classic toy store in there" while we're driving.

Half the time they're right, the other half it's a rare coin store and we're all still happy at the outcome.

I drive all over creation for work, and let me tell you a secret: Dying strip malls.

There are dying strip malls all over the country and rent is dirt cheap. So many of them have weird game stores, record stores, curios, witchcraft supplies, you name it.

Spend time in dying strip malls.

One little curio shop had bones for all kinds of spells and the woman who ran it sold rings and bracelets made from reclaimed watch movements that were secured and lovely. If you want to find the real America, look in dying strip malls.

I went into one store with a sign that just said "HOBBIES" that had one of the best selections of gunpla I have ever seen. Like, in my life. Imports, displays, huge dioramas, lighting situations, the whole thing. Amazing.

See, THIS is the sort of thing I didn't know I didn't know about, I appreciate these suggestions!
