Free transit is an amazing program, but if service cuts continue we wont have a system left. The people who are transit advocates are asking for more funding from the general budgets, not the minimal income from a small fare. The biggest hurdle here is the lack of service TODAY!

In the run-up to the NYC mayoral primary, editorial pages et al. criticized the view that greater accessibility for working class and poor residents to transit and housing would destroy the city. It does anything but.
