Yeah, predates it by a couple decades, I was just being silly. To your point, then: the makers of the 2016 thing overestimated the market for a sword-and-sandal. My question is, if they'd waited a couple years for the "men only think about Rome" meme, maybe it would've been different?

Maybe I'm underestimating the appeal, but I don't see a lot of box office promise in Grok with the Wind.

Do you think this is being encouraged by execs who want their products to fall under AI deregulatory policy? Like, if states can't enforce regulation, then we're at a Gillespie-esque "platform" impasse, where everything classified as AI essentially has no guardrails, no? Or am I catastrophizing?

I feel this so much. Even if someone on AIM had me fuming, the second I found some hidden gem of a website, I'd forget about it and just fall down the rabbit hole.
Is that the issue? Are there no third places on the internet anymore, either?
