As a reminder: If you care about security, privacy, and your processor not getting baked, I recommend against using Google Chrome. I switched back to Firefox a few years ago, and aside from the AI tab grouping feature I had to disable it's perfect.

Feels like the beginning of a horror movie

16. Sam & Max Hit the Road

The Saturday morning cartoon, which I think aired on Fox Kids or Channel Four in the UK, was my first exposure to Sam & Max, and I loved it. Discovering there was an adventure game - by the masters of the genre, no less! - made me ooze with joy. Ruddy marvelous.
A screenshot of Sam & Max Hit the Road. Sam looks at a well and says "Well, well, well." That's just one example of the sort of zany, mad-cap dialog you can expect from this incredible game!

Their actual guitar controllers look amazing, but I'm bummed that the Rock Band style frets are an optional (and pricey!) add-on. It pushes those controllers out of my budget.

Did I GET the latest newsletter? Peep who wrote that guest column about the transition from 2D to 3D as the film enters the Grid. :)

As I've been seeing more and more people sharing AI videos that they don't realize are AI, I'm going to share this again. And again. And I'll keep sharing it until people realize what's happening.

(Fine details = hair movement, flooring, fencing, tattoos, any repeating textures or patterns)

1. Is the video cropped?
2. Is it blurry?
3. Have they blurred or obscured a watermark?
4. Do the fine details remain consistent?
5. Is it actually believable, or do you just want to believe it?

You could not pay me to watch the new TRON movie with Jared Leto, and I'm one of the sixteen people worldwide who loves TRON Legacy.

I grew up in the UK - British comedian Jack Dee did some memorable commercials for John Smith lager in the 90s. I still think about this one decades later.

A great article from Rachel, who really understands the heart and soul of Dad’s work.

"The pandemic of Covid-19 is over" is a lie.

"Covid-19 is no worse than a cold" is a lie.

"Repeated infections of Covid-19 build immunity" is a lie.

"Covid-19 is not harmful to children" is a lie.

"Because of Covid vaccines, we no longer have to worry about Covid-19" is a lie.

Wild TV pitch, but someone should have a go at making something like The Bear that is also a comedy.

The logo on the billboards around LA make it look like a sequel to The Fall Guy. Which it isn't! And that's weirder because Fall Guy unfortunately flopped, so I don't really know what the thinking is there.

Oh god, I reeeeeally hope that's happening.

"Get fucked, James" is the appropriate response to pretty much everything SH2-related. Or, occasionally, generic-white-guy-related.

15. The Simpsons: Bart VS The World

I've played a lot of Simpsons games, but this one is special because… I've NEVER played it! I read about it in a magazine, had a demo disk I could never get working. But I wanted it so badly!

Even now, with easy access via emulation, I've still never played it.
A screenshot from Bart VS The World. Is it good? Probably not! I've never played it!

I love your Ninth Doctor stuff, by the way. In the unlikely event I'm ever given the opportunity to write a Ninth Doctor comic I hope you're the one drawing it.

I really enjoyed this one. It's less Moffat-y, more akin to "Midnight" or "The Well" with a monster that has rules that feel like a children's game, and it plays in that space incredibly well.

Wonderfully written with a superb supporting cast. Slots in wonderfully with that 2005 Series 1 feel.

Realistically, with Star Trek over for the next few months, I could cancel Paramount+. But I never do.
