This is a lovely book. The male antagonist, Edvard, is a quiet and introspective man and we follow his loss and struggles. Edvard is rooted in rural Norwegian life and I loved the descriptions of the farming, the woods and the sea. Nice, rich, descriptive prose with a slow, immersive pace.
