(The boxes, that is. I guess if you got ambitious you could wash the jam jars and re-fill them with candy or something.)

WOW. I got a Vosges calendar a dozen years ago and thought it was super fancy then. These are works of art.

He smiled and said it was his first year buying because his 90 yo mom had officially retired from dressing duty. "That's a lot of work! She deserves a rest." We wished each other Happy Thanksgiving and went on our ways.

Mom is nearly 90 herself and still mentions her mother's gluey stuffing.

I was at the Safeway extra early today and one of the other customers was loading his cart with Stove Top. I told him that my mom who is a GREAT cook preferred it after Soggy Dressing incidents growing up (and Dad agreed with her) 1/

The other one, which is mild by all comparisons, was that the Aged Ps got sold a XL full turkey breast when they thought they were getting a small whole turkey a couple of years ago. It did put two very experienced (like, 6+ decades) turkey chefs into a kerfluffle because it cooks differently!

Aunt J pulled into the lot triumphant to learn: McDonalds is closed on Thanksgiving. We piled back in and ended up eating dinner with the family as usual. Mind you if she wanted to keep it on the DL, she had no chance with the six of us talking. 3/3

Hamburgers were 1 of the few thing all 4 of her kids agreed on so she was going to take them to McD's for T-Day. My mother, informed of this scheme, said "My kids are eating turkey" but when the time came to take the trip, my sib and I were in the car. (See: pack.) 2/

When I was a wee lass, my cousins lived across the street and our grandparents across town. We are close in age and traveled in a pack.

We had just gotten a McDonald's in our small town and my aunt had a brilliant idea. 1/
