Since 2019, when the NCAA launched the transfer portal, Cal Athletics has seen an increase in new team members who began their college careers elsewhere. A new $1 million gift from Deborah Loker Hicks ’72 and her husband, Robin ’69, is paving the way for a smoother transition. gobears.me/46IQh8S

Cancer is a personal disease. Nearly 2 in 5 people in the U.S. will develop cancer over the course of their lifetime, meaning almost everyone knows someone who has fought it.

Until the discovery of immunotherapy, cancer treatments were crude tools with painful side effects.

Originally containing 12 bells, the Campanile now has a 61-bell grand carillon that serenades Berkeleyans daily.

Plan to explore the Campanile with Visitor Services or check it out when you're back this year for #CalHC!

Known as the Campanile, UC Berkeley's Sather Tower (named after Jane K. Sather) was designed by John Galen Howard as part of an architectural plan to give the university a unique look.

At 307 feet tall, it's the second-tallest freestanding clock and bell tower in the world.

“Berkeley helped me think about what a life of learning and ideas would look like. And I chose an academic career, not because I saw it when I got here, but because the campus helped me to see it while I was here,” said Chancellor Lyons.
