Yaaaaay Reds! In a pretty large, sold-out theater with, IMO, the comfiest seats at any arthouse theater* I've been to in Manhattan.
*The Cinema 123 has wonderful recliners but it had Superman and Fantastic Four playing at the same time last summer, so it doesn't count as true arthouse.

Thanks to rereading @markharris.bsky.social's Pictures at a Revolution, I learned that there used to be 4 theaters on the block just south of me. There's only one left now, my beloved Cinema 123, but I found the marquee for one of the others on E 59th.

I walked almost five miles today in these boots I bought at a thrift shop yesterday, the first time I've worn heels for any extended period of time. I think my calves may fall off.

It was really pretty this morning in Manhattan, but by the time I left the movie theater, it had reached its final form of an inch of cold wet slop at intersections.

As a partially uncultured buffoon, outside pre-WW2 European modernism, I hadn't known Wilfredo Lam, but now I do! This exhibition was pretty dang great.
