She/her, motherfuckers. Middle aged and slightly awkward in Manhattan.
Dug up an old domain of mine and now I am @beth.banana.management. Because it’s fun to say “banana management”.

The front door to my building has functionally been unable to open all day. Something in the metal broke and grinds against the sidewalk at an angle, keeping the door from opening. This building, oy.

for me it was the fact that the author is one of the main driving forces behind the global movement to kill my trans friends and erase their existence

hope that helps

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
Opinion | Why Gen Z Doesn’t Love ‘Harry Potter’
The wizarding worldview is naïve.

My humidifier managed to combine with a poor seal at the bottom of my bedroom window to create a nontrivially thick layer of ice by the time I woke up this morning. Oops.

Going to see Frankenstein on Sunday at the theater Netflix runs in NYC and I am preparing myself for the disappointment when it's not The Bride! instead.

People keep trying to diagnose Trump based on the wine-colored stain on his hand without considering the obvious answer. (It is a metaphorical representation of his sin he cannot scrub out no matter how hard he tries.)

Thanks to rereading @markharris.bsky.social's Pictures at a Revolution, I learned that there used to be 4 theaters on the block just south of me. There's only one left now, my beloved Cinema 123, but I found the marquee for one of the others on E 59th.

IDEA FOR A PERIOD DETECTIVE SERIES: "Bertrand Russell Investigates"

Top logician and fearless humanist Bertrand Russell solves crimes with his powers of deduction in the 1920s. Every episode ends with him chuckling about what he'll say about it in his next postcard to Wittgenstein.

God trains, I'll do anything for you
God trains, just tell me what you want me to
God trains, nail me up against the wall
God trains, don't want everything he wants it all
It’s a punny tag reference.

Yesterday I thought "I need to find something cultural to do this weekend" and tada, here I am for a play at 59E59. Why not?

Thanks to this thread from Julia, this 48 year old who figured her shit out six months ago and has been dysphoric as fuck about ever being perceived as a woman due to her baldness kicking in nigh on twenty years ago, I have made a request for a consultation at a well-regarded specialist in NYC.
hey bitch who thinks her hairline is unsalvageable. i got mistaken for a 40yr old at 20. and now im much better. go get the surgery go look into it go fix it. go start the road to feeling better. get a brow reduction too while you're there. and one of the surgeon office complimentary water bottles

You search through the Clarks ankle boot inventory to see what the store a block from you has in stock in your size a couple times, and you'll be presented with banner ads for Clarks ankle boots for eternity.

I try not to post work-related stuff here, but I must scream into the void. I've built and worked on CI systems since 2002, and GitHub Actions is legitimately the worst I've had to deal with since a crappy one I wrote 20 years ago. It's embarrassing.

Ha. The down escalator at my subway entrance has been broken for months, and now the up escalator is too, meaning a ton of people having to go both ways on a skinny multi story staircase. Oy.

I have the Photos widget on my iPad cos it mainly shows me pictures of my cat as a kitten, but right now it’s showing a 12 year old picture of me in Slovenia, and I somehow look like Fat Old Haley Joel Osment. Suffice to say, I do _not_ look like that now, and I’m not sure how I ever did. Huh.

I love this painting so much, I’ve got a print of it up on my wall, I’ve got it as the background on my monitor at work, and the Guggenheim owns it, a mile from me, but doesn’t have it on view. This hurts me! I’m being teased!
