This is one of my fave stories. The traitor's battle flag was captured by the First Minnesota Infantry at Gettysburg. 3/4 of the regiment died that day. Va has repeatedly requested its return. MN gov Jesse Ventura notoriously responded, “Why? I mean, we won. We took it, that makes it our heritage.”
Minnesota folks are known to be nice, but they can also put up a hell of a fight when the cause is right.
