I haven't drawn lately, but I have been on a couple brief vacations!
This is a photo overlooking the southern coast of St John in the US Virgin Islands from Ram Head Peak. There's an arid rocky foreground, ocean in the midground, and a lush forest covering low-rolling mountains along the coast looking to the west. The sky is cloudy with a little bit of blue poking through here and there. It stormed on and off near Ram Head peak that day, but it never actually rained there on the most arid part where all the cactus grew.

I touched water yesterday
This is a photo of a creek bed. The water is calm and clear, and my feet are propped up on large rocks that border the edge of the water. Another photo shows a broader view of the creek and the greenery growing in and around the water. A concrete car bridge crosses the water on the far side.

People think of Oklahoma as flat and maybe even desert-like, but eastern Oklahoma is quite hilly and has many large lakes due to damming.

Here's a video I also took in eastern Oklahoma by Lake Tenkiller that shows some of the westernmost Ozark Mountains.

This is a photo of Lake Hudson in Oklahoma taken from the highway that crosses over it. The sky is mostly blue, the trees on the left bank are green, and the road barrier is low and made of gray horizontal concrete blocks. This picture is of a field that's turning into a pond. The grass is tall, an electricity post sits inside the edge of the pond, and small ranch houses sit back in the trees along the horizon. A degrading concrete pad sits in between two brick commercial buildings in a small town. Three vertical metal bars keep people from driving onto the concrete from the main road, but a rusted, old, door-less car sits on the far side of the concrete beyond the bars. This is a photo taken while I was walking on the sidewalk where a light pole has fallen onto the path. Caution tape is tattered and scattered on and around the light pole. This is another photo I've taken on the same stretch of sidewalk as the last photo where someone ran into a weighted barricade so hard that it fell over, across the sidewalk. This is another photo I took on the sidewalk, a ways up from the last two photos, where a large electric street sign has been placed on the sidewalk. The sign is facing away, so we can't see what it says. This is a photo of an empty lime green trash can that's been blown over in the wind and is almost in the street of a suburban neighborhood. It's not blocking my path, I just related to the vibes.

'tis the season

I took this photo in an antique store. In the back corner of a gray shelf sits a long stemmed cylindrical glass that would be awkward for either wine or flowers. That's why the shop owners filled it with 6-inch tall plastic skeletons! The perfect filling! One of them has successfully escaped the confines of the bottom of the glass and is resting with a leg on either side of the top rim. He looks out at his freedom, contemplating leaving the others behind to search for help. Fate has not been kind to them, but perhaps that all changes today. In this particular corner of the antique store, a fashionable life-sized skeleton sports a shiny jacket with a golden fall floral pattern and a black velvet collar with black velvet cuffs. The jacket is open, showing a white pleated sundress underneath. They're sitting with their knees parallel and their feet crissy crossy. They're smiling as big as they can and could not be more pleased to show off their daily outfit. The top of a dresser sits up against a terracotta colored wall. It has a metal stand with a small circular mirror attached to the top. In the mirror, a coy sugar skull peeks out from the right side. It's a white skull with painted red flowers and designs on it. It smiles as if to say "you weren't expecting to see me in here, were you?" A simple small black picture frame has a clipping of the front of an ANTZ VHS tape cover inside it. A piece of brown twine attached to the back of the frame loops through a brown price tag that says "#30 ANTZ FRAME $10" in black permanent marker.
