The goats are here!
Every year they come through to eat the dry grasses in the open space areas and reduce the risk of wildfires.
It’s fun to watch them 🥰🐐🐐🐐

I really like the way Writing Memoir in Flashes focuses on writing short, meaningful memoir and Lita Kurth’s friendly writing style.
For those who don’t know, I’m with Thinking Ink Press—we’re the publisher.
So, if you’re up for showing this book some love, like/share, or follow!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a lovely tea tasting at Senpais Anime Cafe in Roseville. They offer three different kinds of tea along with treats!
I don’t see them on BlueSky, but if you’re in the Roseville/Sac area, check them out senpaiscafe.com
A fancy tea infuser made of black wood with tea leaves in the top part and a small glass teapot full of tea in the bottom part

Just had a great session #2 of the workshop on theme and motif. We're grappling with some hard stuff, but having fun with it. Here's a story I asked them to read for the next session, John Chu's lovely "The Water that Falls on You From Nowhere" - reactormag.com/the-water-th...

I think that if you are trying to understand the Anthropic book settlement, and you are not doing it in light of the (extremely) failed Google book settlement from 2011, you will never be able to understand what is happening.

It's my understanding that this settlement is only for the piracy issue, and it does not cover licensing for LLM learning.
Ideally, LLM learning would be separate class action lawsuits with additional payments/penalties going to authors. I have no idea what will actually happen though!
