The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority said it is “aware” of the recent deaths of the two owls, but the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Kitchener has voted and our official city bird election 🪶 has decided a winner! We're in our cute, underrated sparrow era.

Some cool stats about the vote:

- 1265 votes cast

- 10.3% Killdeer
- 17.5% Chimney Swift
- 27.1% Merlin
- Our winning Dark-Eyed Junco took it with 45.1% of the vote
