WR 134 captured from my patio on 14 nights in July & August 😊🔭

This nebula around the star WR 134 was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of 58 h in mono with Ha and OIII narrowband filters and merged with RGB stars.

#Astrophotography

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social‬ what do you see?
WR 134 is a dying Wolf-Rayet star about 6000 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. The surrounding structure is formed by WR 134 blowing off massive amounts of its shell and its intense radiation. WR 134 is the second from right of the four lined up stars in the centre.

The Tadpoles in Auriga shot in narrow band SHO (Sulfur, Hydrogen, Oxygen) from my backyard during last night's #Astrophotography 🔭📷 session. Slightly psychedelic colors but I like those 🫠. The stars are RGB though. Am I spot on @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social ?

Fantastic job, great contrast with the surrounding area 🤩

The Fireworks Galaxy is a face-on spiral galaxy in Cygnus, about 21 million ly away, and is best observed end of July.

Yes that’s true, it was my longest project so far. I’ll add another 12 hours next year to catch up with you 😁😉

🔭W63 is a supernova remnant located in Cygnus. This narrowband image shows Ha, OIII and SII emissions. This object is large and very faint, I needed more than 70 hours of exposure time overall.

The bane of all #astrophotography 🔭 📷 amateurs is stars throwing a tantrum right next to tiny, delicate, nebulae...Navi is such a star, glowing from just beyond the top left corner of this image of the Ghost of Cassiopeia #IC63 I shot from my backyard 🙂. What do you see @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
The Ghost of Cassiopeia nebula shot with a 130mm Astro-Physics refractor and a dedicated cooled Poseidon-M monochrome astronomy camera. Filters used were RGB Antlia V-Pro filters for the RGB stars, and Baader 6.5nm narrow band H-alpha and OIII filters for the emission lines of hydrogen and oxygen. Narrowband images : 139x120s for H-alpha, 109x120s for OIII. RGB images : 60x30s for each RGB channel.

Probably more fish like because there already is a proper seahorse nebula 🤷‍♂️

LDN 1082 The Seahorse Nebula captured from my dark site in southern France end of last month😊🔭🇫🇷

This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar at f/2 for a total integration time of 2 hours using a QHY294C cam and the Baader UHCL filter

#Astrophotography
Image of the dark nebula LDN 1082 which resembles a seahorse.

Thank you! 🙂 Yes, Hyperstar never ceases to amaze me!

Thanks a lot! 🙂 And agreed that the name is apt, it really looks like a decaying fish!

Merci beaucoup, Martial ! ☺️

Thanks a lot, Phillip! 🙂 I’m always trying to aim for targets down here that are nearly impossible to shoot from Braunschweig due to the light pollution. The skies on a moonless night are simply amazing here and the efficiency of Hyperstar adds to that.

Thanks you, Clément! 🙂

LDN 1251 The Rotten Fish Nebula captured from my dark site in southern France this month 🇫🇷 😊🔭

This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar for a total integration time of about 4 hours using an OSC cam with just the UV/IR-Cut filter.

#Astrophotography

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social‬ what do you see?
LDN 1251 is a dark nebula in the constellation of Cepheus. It consists of cosmic molecular clouds and dust blocking the stars. Its form resembles a fish hence the name. But I doubt that anyone verified its smell yet 😅

Just finished processing my HaLRGB image of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31)

At ~2.5 million light years away, Andromeda is our nearest spiral neighbour. The pink regions mark hydrogen-rich star-forming nebulae, while the dusty lanes and bright core reveal stunning depth.

Trifecta. Bat and Squid nebulae are front and center(ish). The top of B150 (Dark Seahorse) is at the right edge. The bat flies about 2,400 light years away. ~80 hours of data collected in 4 wideband and 2 narrowband filters with my scope in SW New Mexico. #astrophotography #photography
