So excited to hear my number one pick on the #xpncountdown . Bruce Cockburn is one of my favorite artists, and this BNL cover is exquisite

New theory: divergence point between our universe and the mirror universe is that Grok actually DID replace Wikipedia.

Just putting this out there that there is no chance of me ever voting for Fetterman again, so if Democrats want my vote for Senate in 2028, they'd better primary him.

My favorite quotes from @pluralistic 's talk at Cornell last Friday:

"The smallest government you can have is dictated by the largest corporation you're willing to tolerate."
"A 'vote with your wallet' is always won by the people with the fattest wallets."

Just spoke to the specialty pharmacy that supplies my daughter's essential medication, and the person was so impressed that I, her *father*, knew how much of it we had on hand. Like, what an embarrassingly low bar for us men, to actually care about our children's health.

It seems like “a Democratic party campaign consultant” is somebody who professionally pushes Republican framing and messaging about Democrats in order to try make Democrats act like more like Republicans.
A message I just got from a buddy of mine, who’s a long time Democratic Party campaign consultant: “This Sydney Sweeney thing is the kind of thing that turns men away from our party. It’s why men think our party is weak & insane.”

My response to him? “Fuck yea it is. You are exactly right.”

I feel like amid all of his other failings, not even considering reform and/or expansion of the Supreme Court may be the most lasting stain on Biden's legacy.

It's sort of funny when those who argue most strenuously for a marketplace of ideas where bad ideas are tested and rejected always always always get the most "concerned" when they encounter a place where bad ideas get rejected for being bad.

Almost seems like they were lying about what they wanted.

Maybe this will be the wake-up call to Dems in Congress that Republicans are not their friends, and in fact wish them harm

Multiple things can be true at the same time. The ACA was certainly better than nothing, and it helped people get health insurance who previously couldn't. But it was also essentially a conservative-crafted plan that still left many people with inadequate healthcare.

The fascism-laundering NYT is at it again. This piece gushes about the novel idea that conservative Christians are an oppressed minority without once pointing out that they've had outsized influence in American politics for at least four decades.

The creator of Pixelfed.social, @dansup.bsky.social, has just announced the next version of the app is getting starter packs.

So Pixelfed will have starter packs and no ads, while Instagram has ads and support for Fascism.

I say it's time to dump Meta!
