Just my take but I think Tocchet was part of the problem. Old school bully approach doesn't fly in today's dressing rooms.

From a due diligence standpoint Hughes has to make the call to find out the price of EP40. Get him out of that tire fire and into a solid culture and he's likely a different player.

If he wants to play with his brothers then he can just wait it out. And it would make sense to do that because NJD are a very good team - crazy good if you at Quinn.

Agreed, but I think that grit has to be top 4 so they can play against the top lines and not be sheltered from those matchups. If that grit isn't from DR then they have a hole.

That's what I meant by top 6 is top 6 - might be interchangeable but they are going to be the group.

Lane moves back to the left as soon as DR is ready. That makes Guhle the 3rd pair LD. I can't see DR being the 3rd pair RD behind Lane and Dobs. Eventually Math falls off but is still bottom pair LD ahead of AX.

Struble is also being asked to play above his chair on the 2nd pairing which maybe explains his play a bit? With the Matheson extension there isn't a spot for either of them when DR and AE land - and personally I think AE landed last night. We're debating ice time for our future 7th D??

Dunno - they said in the first intermission that it's half NHL refs and they are talking about calling it using NHL interpretation of rules - aka random. Maybe the US influencing these decisions to have a better chance??
