For what it's worth, yours will end up more efficient than mine depending on how store access patterns are broken up. My nested select() pattern forces every subscriber to recheck their value (global first). Scoping at the context level helps, assuming data access is pretty scoped too

Woah, this API design is super interesting! It reminds me of the x-data attribute in Alpine, but type-safe

I've been thinking about that. I was planning to keep it closed for a bit, but I really want to find a community of people who vibe with this.

I like Voiceink's model of charging a 1-time fee for a download with auto-updates, but it's also OSS you can compile yourself

Yeah you're totally right. Now that I've stepped away and came back, it's so obvious I had it backwards 😄 Thanks y'all

Oh THAT'S where this is from!

Also may have just sat with the first design for too long. I like the new version better the more I look at it

Yeah I tried that here, but it loses the feeling of a book opened on a table. Before and after here.

Not saying you're wrong about that (my intuition says the navbar is too bright). I just can't get the feel I want doing it "right" yet. Need to try things

My one issue is (as always) the font. It says "clean," but it doesn't say "fun." I want something closer to the latter without being too far the other direction. Any font experts have ideas?

Saw some people recommending Handy as well. They have a windows installer!

It's a sign to never lose that so-old-its-peak-comfy shirt. Still have my faded Georgia Tech shirt, despite the bleach stain :)

Oh and what if we embedded a video editor for watching media files??

(yes, I actually had this thought)

…okay, I think I’m scoping this think back to just a markdown notes app. I’ll never ship at this rate 😅

But this lil excursion did give me ideas to simplify the navigation and make it more file-centric. So that’s a win!

Hehe, don’t tempt me :)
And that’s cool you’re building something similar! Whats the project? Any learnings so far I should watch out for?

Was NOT expecting a Rob Pike paper clicking on this. Incredible. Will give it a read
