I pay taxes so that my neighbor who is disabled can get a check every month, the town can fix the potholes, etc. It's all about community and helping each other. Or at least it Should be!

Exactly!! I hate how much people are individualistic. Taxes are for making society better. It's supposed to help lift people out of bad situations and support them. As is, it's not working as intended because some people feel like the poor deserve less.

I've personally paid way more in taxes than I've benefited from directly. But whenever I've had to rely on government help. People claim I'm stealing their money. When it's technically mine. And even if it wasn't. The whole point of taxes is to help society/everyone.
