Are the great looking throwbacks in the room with us right now, Jason?

No, it predates his entry into politics even if you're counting 1988.

It's an old white supremacist symbol using minstrelsy type iconography. Sliwa is saying that the county is so white they don't even have black stereotype figurines on their lawns- even they are white.

NY NY's association with Sinatra is wild to me. Not only did he not write it or perform the original version but the OG is by legendary Broadway talent and the song was written and performed for a M. Scorsese movie!
It was nominated for a Golden Globe!
It's much better than the Sinatra cover!

Legacy probably made some money if we use the "Assume the marketing budget is the same as the film budget" rule of thumb for Hollywood blockbusters. But it needed international earnings to not lose a ton.
Budget of 170M

On offense? Yes. Getting a lot of good stuff from a bunch of guys. The pitching is a little sus. Fortunately the vibes are excellent. They seem to really like each other.

I'm also a big fan of this Yankee Slaying Highlander theory that has been passed from Griffey Jr. to Papi to Vladdy Jr.

I'm also thinking 80s/early 90s Toyota.
The Nissan and Isuzus of that era had slightly different rear lights.

I understand your cynicism but there really is no way to square this circle. It doesn't require sanity or good judgement. Their goals cannot be reconciled with each other.

You are aware that it is not 1992, correct?
The veracity of "Bill Clinton won because he did the Dril Price is Right tweet" aside a few things have changed in 33 years.

1992 was such a weird election too. Only viable third party candidate of the modern era wreaking havoc on predictive models.

I have found that the central dynamic of PE- namely this- is kinda hard to explain to people because of how distant it is from family or small business-scale economics.
Similar to "It's actually good that the US, as a fiat currency has a bunch of debt and it would be worse if it didn't."
September 29, 2025 at 3:28 PM
To the extent that there were details it sounded like neither.
I'm sure there are some people whom it would have helped but it was a very Dem "$3K tax rebate to single mothers of color starting up a new business in a community 20-40% below the poverty line for 2 years" kind of thing

OP is blocked so when I saw this you established nothing.
I was pointing out that he believed that gun violence was on some level fine, which makes sense since he spent his career encouraging it, thinking it would never affect him.
Just clarifying for anyone else who might pass through.

“You will never live in a society where you won’t have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It’s drivel. It’s worth it to have some gun deaths every single year so that we have the 2nd Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That’s a prudent deal. It’s rational.”

I've been thinking about this Brent DiCrescenzo line from @pitchfork.com 's original best albums of the 90s list for years now.

There are perfect albums. There are also albums that I think even more highly of that are not perfect. There's no contradiction here.
