I have lost the thread on deportations- are they flying people out- to where? Are people getting their due process hearings? Did the hairdresser from Miami get out of El Salvador? What's been enjoined by the courts? What's the status of contempt proceedings?

In reading a discourse on fascism, it was noted that the public lying and arrogance takes on a new role- demoralizing the opposition by showing they can act this way with no consequences. It becomes a deliberate exercise to demonstrate their power.

You know, the Nazis promised allied planes would never bomb Berlin. Then they did. The next day, as people came out and saw the bomb damage, Nazi media said there were planes, but no bombs were dropped. They kept that up for awhile, until people basically ignored them

In the before times, the government understood that basic medical care to everyone despite their ability to pay/legal status benefited the public. Diseases like drug resistant TB were identified, treated, and stopped from spreading. Death and disability were prevented. It was humane and moral.
