A: All of them and NONE OF THEM CARE

It always bothers me when people get excited about loosing winter. For me it is profoundly sad. I have so many happy childhood memories of the winter, and now we get so few days with snow on the ground.

It will be fascinating to see these once in a century events (global energy transformation and total destruction of a major oil and gas supplier) occur simultaneously and the net impact on global oil and gas prices…

The extremely fast anticipated collapse in global demand during 2026 due to fast electrification and solar PV roll out in most African nations, India, China, Pakistan, and most South American nations will not be as obvious if Ukraine succeeds in destroying Russia’s entire fossil fuel supply chain.

I like that this oil industry trade publication can no longer ignore the obvious but also uses a pun.

Anyway, going to be a bad year for your oil investments.

"If you build just for cars, you're going to get cars. If you build it, they will come. It's called #InducedDemand. We've all seen the image of LA highways that keep building more lanes & they just keep getting jammed with traffic. Has there ever been a time where Calgary didn't have congestion?"

The three biggest Canadian fire seasons in the nearly 50-year record happened in 2023, 2025, and 1995.

Before that? Pre-satellite burnt area data is presumably less reliable (certainly exists), but there are some convincing proxies: bsky.app/profile/bigc...

As a reminder, whether it be $95 or $110 per tonne, the “policy price” for industrial emissions is largely moot right now.

Emitters can pay for compliance using emissions offsets and performance credits, which are currently trading bilaterally for under $29 per tonne.
