Use bikes to do what needs to be done as much as possible (groceries, kid to school, library, get Christmas trees etc.). PhD in Astronomy some years ago. Enjoy computer programming as a hobby and for work. Help researchers use computer clusters and cloud.

It always bothers me when people get excited about loosing winter. For me it is profoundly sad. I have so many happy childhood memories of the winter, and now we get so few days with snow on the ground.

I think the one at Windsor was set up poorly too but seems they adjusted it to match the LPI. Maybe they will do that there too?

Ok... it changed in the direction I was expecting, but maybe not as much as I was expecting? Though then again, it could be because the geographic areas of the regions are so different it makes it harder to compare. I need to count numbers of areas and try to ignore the size of the area.

I am curious about not just on a per housing unit basis, but also in an absolute sense. It would be interesting to also see a plot that multiplies this value per unit by total number of housing units in each region too.

In my city louder noises, like construction, garbage trucks, outdoor music, are far less frequent, and often only occurring in some places some of the time. Other omnipresent noises heating/air conditioning are much quieter. Cars however, are always present. Noon, 10pm, doesn't matter always there.

I live in a small city,with beautiful tree lined streets, a park one house away, with a large wooded area. But while trying to enjoy the peace in my park, I still hear the thunderous noise of hundreds of cars. If only there were fewer cars the city would be as peaceful as the country.

do you mind saying what you paid? The ones I got done a while ago were pretty cheap, but quality wasn't great, but then again I kind of expected people to tear them down, so I was going more for cheap than durable.

I didn't look too closely when you handed them to me, but once I got them home and had a better look they seem like pretty good quality. Are they weather resistant? They kind of look like they might be.
