They could, but what is there to gain from it? OFCOM are about as effective as a chocolate fireguard, so I very much doubt they have the fire, spirit or will to shake up UK TV. And in the multichannel, streaming era - would anyone (other than us) notice or care, and would it have an impact on TV?

No UK Govt has tinkered with itv/stv since deregulation & the mergers. I would suggest that now they are all established and in role, like C5, (not Public owned/Publis service broadcasters like BBC/C4) they have no need to get involved. There's no IBA anymore, only OffCom. ITV is now set in stone.

I suspect that now all the franchises are owned by one company, would suggest that the Govt wouldn't be too bothered about changing the status quo.

We studied it during GCSE Media Studies as it was going on. It was fascinating to watch & see how the Tories wanted Thames out & all the others who were collateral damage, all of which were winners at the previous franchise round!

Just read an album review where it's abundantly clear the reviewer knows nowt about the artists career over the last 20 years, and has left me clueless, even after reading the review, as to what the album sounds like. Not a great album review imho. I won't be naming names, no naming & shaming here.

The interloper who was deliberately undermiming me & bringing me doen, I said if you're planning anything with him, leave me about. As a result of this stance - I heard nothing from them all Easter. Learnt a lot then, not sure why this is on my mind currently. There must be a readon,oh well. 2/2.

Been thinking a lot recently for some reason about something that happened when I was in 6th form. Was part of a close knit foursone, then a 5th wheel interloped & I wasn't keen on him, but kept quiet. Then it came to the Easter holidays & I said to the other three, after several incidents with..1/2
