Not a real doctor; real worm. I've done radio for kids for a weirdly long time. Not your lawyer, but maybe your amusement park law prof. SpareTheRock.com. Wrote a book: RecreationAndRisk.com (Carolina Academic Press). He/him; my views only here. St. Paul.

Imagine living in the bubble where you think Lee Greenwood is more popular than literally the most popular US pop musician on the planet.

We just missed celebrating the 46th anniversary of WMCN's launch. I am glad to note that it went on the air at 10 pm that day.

At least once a week I feel like I have some sort of head injury
Lede from article:

Law360, Miami (October 7, 2025, 12:29 PM EDT) -- A Miami jury returned a defense verdict late Monday in favor of NASCAR in a $76 million suit by the LetsGoBrandon.com Foundation accusing the league of destroying the value of its cryptocurrency LGBCoin after it revoked approval of sponsorship of a racing team.

Also in this issue is a detailed history of Boardwalk & Baseball (nee Circus World) in Florida, and the main new thing I learned is that the park had a ride called:

SCHLITTENFAHRT

Schlitterbahn roughly translates as “slippery road”, and so I am forced to assume this means “Slippery Fart”

Extremely niche content, but here I go: the new issue of the journal of the National Amusement Park Historical Association has a two-page spread on Kiddie Park in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, which is where I started my weird amusement park love (both the love is weird and I love weird parks).
A display of a coaster car from the Little Dipper The lift hill of The Little Dipper, which might also be called Little Fire Ball Me, on the train. Last ride is always free.

I lived north of Tulsa when I was a kid (Bartlesville) and it sure felt plenty like Arkansas to me (where my family was from). But it probably is more midwestern than elsewhere in the state.

I mean the cover of Androgynous, not the cover of the album!

I have minimal opinion about them but I am always supportive of nostalgic affection! As I have noted, I like the ‘Mats “Don’t Tell a Soul” far more than most people for contextual reasons, and those reasons are as good as any others.
billchilds.bsky.social
I have no opinion about that; just about that cover (which is…fine)
billchilds.bsky.social
I remember seeing them do it live but somehow didn’t realize it was recorded.

I lived just north of its line when I was a kid, and it sure felt like the south, not the Midwest as this map would assert.

(But I am glad that they did it)

This is how it's done: put the truth right there in the headline and sub headline.

A little bit of ice on the birdbath in 55105. Hopefully the tomatoes and peppers made it through.

A question I somehow have not considered in the 20 years of doing the radio show until seeing it in children’s book form: Is this song adequately kid-friendly to be on the show? I kinda think it is

Hadn’t seen the video—utterly charming—before. I will put it tied for second with the ensemble version.

I guess this obligates you to rank the solo Joan version. I like this video where she's reading her children's book telling the song as her story, and her partner John Doe is standing by in support. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNgi...

Those are the only three versions I know and I like all of them very much.
