2. Watch Dogs (Replay)
Banger alert. Ubisoft please give us one more game with Aiden. Just a crumb of seriousness to this franchise again I beg.

1. Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League
Started the year off rough on a stinker. Can't believe I bought this for about $70 at launch. Yeesh.

Year's over, so I guess it's time to rank everything. Can't fit it all in Bsky's text limit so notepad screenshot be upon ye. Not including replays of games because those are all already games I like and would be in the top 5.

21. Watch Dogs Legion
Ugh, I could write a novel on my feelings about this game, but I can’t. My main point is, the narrative cannot be good with the main mechanic of the game, playing as anybody. There is no character development, and the plot has to happen *around* your character, which sucks.

20. Batman Arkham City Replay
The main story for this game is a lot shorter than I remember. Still a really solid action adventure game and probably in my top 5 when it comes to 7th gen games. I think Arkham Knight eeks out ahead when it comes to my favorite Arkham game though.

19. Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline
I want to give the main game another shot, so I revisited this DLC so I could use Aiden and Wrench in the main game. A fine standalone experience, Wrench always felt a little strange to have as a MC over Marcus, but Aiden was great.

18. Metroid Prime 2: Beyond
I really liked this game! …aside from the ending. It’s a true graphical powerhouse that looks phenomenal on S2 and it’s got the classic prime gameplay like the series never left. Contrary to seemingly popular opinion I loved the supporting cast, even Myles.

17. Thomas Was Alone
I was feeling nostalgic this weekend, so I did a replay of one of my favorite indie games from @bithellgames.bsky.social . I cant believe how much emotion the narration and music can cause you to feel for what is just squares and rectangles. One of my all time favs for a reason.

16. Pokémon Legends Z-A
Even if it got a bit repetitive near the end, this game edges out Scarlet/Violet to make my top 3 mainline games. Recent games have had dead, empty feeling cities and this completely fixes that by being able to focus on the one city. Mega Evolution is also my fav gimmick.

15. CoD Black Ops 7 Campaign
AI shit and forced coop aside, this is still one of the better cod campaigns this generation. Theres some cool set pieces and when they’re actually allowed to do a real level that isn’t sliced out of the BR map theyre actually pretty neat. This over MW2R and MW3R any day

14. Dispatch
You know, I didn’t realize how much I missed old telltale until I played this. Very glad I only just started this on Sunday so I didn’t have to wait between episodes. The things id do to have seen this team’s version of Wolf Among Us 2…

13. Wolfenstein: The New Order
If you wanna play a game that's mostly just shooting dudes (Nazis) well this sure gets the job done. Nothing really outstanding about it, nothing really bad either. The music is pretty good, and some of the weapons have really cool designs.

12. Donkey Kong Bananza
I’ve never been a huge standalone DK Game fan, but this is probably the best of them so far. Being able to just carve your way through a large chunk of the environment and the transformations are pretty cool. One of the best finales in a game I’ve played this year.

11. Death Stranding 2 On The Beach
I thought this stood no chance of beating out the first one for me, but it turns out when you have an amazing foundation and just build more on top of that, it works out great! Story is the perfect kind of crazy, just absolute cinema. So many amazing moments.

10. Super Mario Odyssey Switch 2 Replay
Yeah this is a solid 3D Mario. Probably my third place pick overall right behind the galaxy pair. The capture mechanic is great and the locations are all neat and interesting. My only real complaint is that Mario kinda feels “heavy” in the air.

9. TLoZ: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Replay
What a great game that finally runs well on official hardware! Weapon durability is not as much of an issue as I remember it being. I also did not remember constantly running out of standard arrows.

8. Deltarune Chapter 3&4
Even nearly a decade after Undertale came out, there’s nothing quite like these games. Chapter 3 has probably been my least favorite so far (still good! didn’t like the structure personally), Chapter 4 has a lot of cool ideas and god I can’t wait for more.

It is 2017. I just got a Switch 1. My first game is breath of the wild.

7. Assassin's Creed Origins
This is a pretty decent first step for the series' RPG-like games. Mostly interesting story, the combat feels fine enough, plenty of side quests everywhere you go. My only real complaint is that even with doing side quests you're always underleveled for the main missions.

6. Assassin’s Creed Shadows
This game is easily top 3 in the series in terms of gameplay. Absolutely stunning visuals. Probably my number 2 game in the series overall. Unfortunately the way they tell this story is done very poorly. Cool characters, but just the way they tell their story is baffling.

Why are we like 6 months into Black Ops 6 at this point and there still isn’t a normal outfit skin for Adler? #Blackops6

5. The Talos Principle: Reawakened
Man this game holds up very well. I would say some of the puzzles at the end of the "main" game are trickier than any that I experienced in 2, interestingly enough. Glad to see that this is faithful to the original while still adding some new stuff to the campaign.
