I was going to listen to Taylor Swift’s new album with my family, but it has just come to my attention that the billionaire with likely millions of extremely skilled artists for fans has likely used GenAI for her promotion videos. Don’t think I’m touching that album now.

Got some cute Pacific black ducks, some Australian wood ducks, (I think) an Eurasian coot, and a purple swamphen. The lighting in that second photo makes that poor swamphen with all its leg and toe look freaky

Am I a good artist? Not really but I’ve improved a lot over time. I’ve still got a lot to learn, and someday I’ll get where I want to be. Art is more than lines on a page, more than values and data. Art is an expression of the human experience.

A few years ago, I frequently used GenAI to create images (for personal use) because I wasn’t confident in my artistic skills and felt I wasn’t good enough to create my own images. Now, I’m passionately anti-GenAI, and I have been working hard to improve and develop my artistic skills.

Copyright laws should NOT include an exemption for AI companies who are actively stealing from and profiting from the works of our incredible Aussie creatives - works we have put our souls into. They can follow copyright laws and pay creatives or create their own works like the rest of us
