The future depends on Ukraine. Ukraine depends on us #NAFO
Ok but hanging out with popstars, however cringy, is a cut above some of the divorcedness we've seen lately.
It's the old school midlife crisis (buying a sports car & getting an inappropriate girlfriend), rather than the new version (spending your life online obsessing about trans people).

People want to be the heroes of their own story, so the veil of deniability is very important to them.

Yes

Douglas Adams couldn't have imagined a worse version of AI.
Just how the fuck did we end up here, with this shit being shoved at us from every direction? I feel like I'm losing my mind. We need to go Butlerian Jihad on this garbage.

I don't think so. It's very socially regressive for a start, and the woolly centrist liberal core voter of the Lib Dems is one of Blue Labour's explicitly despised groups.
I was going to say it was economically left and socially right wing... but I'm not even sure it's economically left.

Did they accidentally patch Kyrylo Budanov into the call?
December 4, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Yes, sounds pretty plush from the article. And although bus motion is far harder to sleep through than the soothing rattle of a train, it beats wasting the day getting somewhere.

A true patriot only shits every 4 days

The only time I've taken a sleeper bus with proper beds was in Vietnam about 10 years ago. It was ..er.. austere, but incredibly cheap and convenient. For sure, not something you'd want to do 2 nights on the trot, but at the right price it could be a winner.

It was happening to me in my primary school in the early '80s.
I blame it for the fact that my handwriting is terrible.

Before moving to Deezer I'd imagined the Spotify alternatives were going to feel a bit threadbare, but it seems just as good? Not regretting my move
December 3, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Ok great, let's go!
December 3, 2025 at 7:10 PM
But that's what 'burning out' means, isn't it? Putting them back underground is a big win. Let's hope we can all build something more permanent on that, but that's a much longer term thing.
December 3, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Look, we know y'all have this great ambition to become a 3rd world country. Strange, but have at it. Just stop trying to involve the rest of us.
December 3, 2025 at 6:56 PM
Yes, so no deal can ever be good enough.
Continuing the war prolongs a status quo in which he's surviving... until it doesn't.

Any contractor getting involved with this deserves everything they get

They'll swallow anything if there's power at the end of it
December 2, 2025 at 10:31 PM
If only it was just US consumers paying for this shitshow
December 2, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Looking back at the predictions I've read since my eng degree in the '90s, I'd say the stated 'absolute ceiling' is the number that is sailed past without issue about a decade later.
December 2, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Indeed it can, it has happened in many countries already as the green transition moves at rapid pace. The USA is simply a laggard.
December 2, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Yeah, this is the really important point that people don't get. We don't have to worry about a backup system to cover the edge cases, because we've already built it.
It will be good one day to completely eliminate gas power stations, but it's not today's problem. For now, we hold them in reserve.
December 2, 2025 at 8:36 PM
The USA is a huge, relatively sparsely populated country with vast natural and economic resources and the necessary technology is already commercialised.
The only things stopping you making the transformation are vested interests.
December 2, 2025 at 6:30 PM
I think something permanent has changed. Allyship with Europe is no longer bi-partisan, so unless we want whiplash every 4 years, we need to distance ourselves.
December 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Couldn't happen to a nicer group of war criminals. Maybe the next people ordered to violate their oaths will learn from this.
