Good morning to readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.

In 2022, Oleksandr, a Ukrainian marine, helped blow up the Kozarovychi Dam to stop the Russians.

Now, as Russia threatens NATO, Europe considers all options, including turning their own borders into wetlands.
Good for Beavers, Bad for Russia
In 2022, Ukraine blew up the Kozarovychi Dam to stop the Russians. Now, Europe wants to copy this strategy — turning wetlands into defenses.

It's unsettling how quickly these are becoming realistic. The 3 arms and unnatural movements are still tells, but how long will we have them?

It's funny that the Supreme Court are held as the experts in physiology now, rather than... the medical profession.

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

That's what, 50GW? Basically the grid capacity of a medium-sized European country.

For some reason I'm picturing these guys
A group of the 'Wee Free Men' from Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Some are waving swords or other weaponry, most are shouting or bearing teeth, and one is wearing a kilt and holding bagpipes.
Think Smurfs but smaller, ginger, Scottish and fighty.

Don't be ridiculous, two people could never have a swordfight in a hole that size

And the armoured vehicle park will be gone, and the nukes another quarter century out of date.

This was very predictable. Sunak's affinity with the techbro class was clear from the start.

They want you to doom. Don't.

Of course this doesn't apply to the true monsters like Miller - he will die in the bunker if it comes to that - but there are many, many others who will run as soon as the wind changes.
Show them it has, with your voice and your vote while you still have it, before you have to do it with your life.

I know all that. But fascists are cowards. This is not consolidated authoritarianism - there is no system in place to keep his enablers safe and comfortable. They are scared and many can be bullied by popular disapproval into slithering away.

The threat by mega-rich tax-dodgers to cease parasitising us and go elsewhere is not scaring me for some reason.

Fascist regimes have been voted out. Important not to rely on that alone, but they often crumble when shown they don't have popular support.

Heh I should probably look at my tariff.
Anyway, thanks, yes I see how Germany effectively subsidising the price rather skews the picture.
bimblinghill.bsky.social
I was certainly assuming it was typical domestic prices, not business - so maybe this is context that could have been added, but hardly makes the chart 'junk'.

I remember the gag from the '90s: "look, if video games influenced kids, we'd all be jumping around in darkened rooms munching pills and listening to repetitive music"

Could you explain the problems with the left graph?
