Vacation has essentially melted down after every single cancellation (flight, hotel, plans) went wrong lmao. I now have a personal grudge against NYC but had a nice day (while still holding onto my newfound beef with the city of NY).

A HAPPY UPDATE! Mahmoud Khalil was allowed a "contact" visit—without plexiglass divider—with his wife and newborn son this morning before his immigration hearing, ACLU tells me, so I think we can safely assume that he was finally able to hold his child for the first time.
NEW: Mahmoud Khalil's attorneys urgently ask Judge Farbiarz to order ICE to permit Khalil to hold his newborn son today "for the most elementary human reasons." ICE has so far denied the request, despite his wife and child having made the 1,500-mile trip. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Dog grief update: I’m fostering dogs to avoid getting a 3rd dog (and i promise not to foster fail)
Dog grief update: desperately want another dog because the absence of Pineapple is really painful, but no dog will be her. And Coconut + Jessica really need me. And I don’t think it would be fair to a dog to adopt from a place of grief. But fuck. The absence is hard. I miss having 3 of them.
