Imo, any strategy that aims to be "more sustainable than having to keep winning elections" must involve moving away from electoral politics entirely. A political system that can be brought down by a handful of charismatic bad actors is not a robust political system;

This is part of why the Black Panthers & the old unions were dismantled.

They offered food distribution, healthcare access, policing, childcare & education which threatened the legitimacy of the state.

Anarchism does't begin with a gun, but with an outstretched hand, offering help unconditionally.

I can’t emphasize enough that cynicism is a dictator’s best friend. Stay outraged. Believe in and work for democracy.

When anarchists oppose laws, they are only opposing one particular *type* of response to harmful behavior: the one where you consult a particular set of rules which say things like "if someone does x, they should be punished with y" and follow those rules to the letter when deciding what to do next.

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

Queer solidarity is important because bigots scorn every single one of us using the same lens as they scorn a Frank N. Furter.

Trying to be “the good ones” and draw lines between which queer people are doing things right and which aren’t will always fail because they draw no lines between us.

We must not replace one kind of oppression with another. Nor one kind of hierarchy with another. Nor should we replace persecution with persecution. Nor intolerance with intolerance. If we truly want a free world we should seek to abolish these things entirely.

If, upon freeing ourselves from the culture that oppresses us, we then oppress people from that culture in revenge - then all we have done is create a new culture of oppression. One which is nigh guaranteed to oppress even those who did not sin and had no part in our original oppression.

Our current society is inhuman: as wealth inequality pushes more and more people into homelessness, instead of helping them, the city (controlled by the rich) responds by designing public spaces specifically to be HOSTILE to humans seeking to rest. This has no place in a #Solarpunk future!

Seriously this. In political activism - as in all other places - people aren't born with an understanding of all the important concepts. Class consciousness must be developed - and it's the responsibility of those who already have it to guide those who do not.

One who refuses to work for capitalist employers is not punished by the employers themselves. Instead, they are punished by the capitalist system as a whole. It will deny them access to food, housing, and other necessities despite these things being readily available in excess.
