When birds thrive, nature thrives, and so do we.

We take the pulse of the planet through birds; protecting their habitats & global biodiversity.

BirdLife is the largest nature conservation partnership in the world.
But there is still hope. Even if challenged, the Snowy Owl is not globally extinct, and with real action, its recovery it’s possible.

Nature needs protection.

Read more about it in our article: www.birdlife.org/news/2025/12...

Snowy Owls are remarkable birds, capable of diving through deep snow to catch prey and living up to 20 years in the Arctic.

Losing them is a painful reminder of what’s at stake for nature and biodiversity.

Climate change and human activities have made its survival harder: fewer small rodents to hunt and less natural habitat available.

We refuse the false and self-destructive narrative that pits farmers against nature.

Together with our Partner LPO, we call for responsibility, dialogue, and cooperation. Not violence or division.

Already working side by side with many farmers in the field, BirdLife and LPO will continue to support farming that respects nature. Because there is no future for agriculture without a living environment to sustain it.

For more than half a century, an industrialised agricultural model has damaged rural landscapes and undermined the very farmers who work them. This outdated system - based on monocultures, pesticides, and fossil fuels - pollutes the environment and traps farmers in unsustainable dependency.
December 12, 2025 at 1:34 PM
On the contrary, we work to give farming a future: safeguarding healthy soils and the biodiversity that is essential for long-term food production and for resilient agro-ecosystems.
December 12, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Frustration in the farming community is being directed at the wrong target. Nature protection organisations are not responsible for the challenges farmers face.

The Polish authorities plan to expand two roads that form part of the Great Bieszczady Loop. Cutting through the Bieszczady National Park and Natura 2000 areas, this would mean destroying protected habitats and species and felling thousands of trees.

✨Our vision for 2050: The forests across the Yeghegis Valley are fully restored. At least ten hydropower plants have been removed or restored, allowing the river to flow freely once again.
